During the last few months me and my now ex-business partner decided to go separate ways and it’s been really tough on so many levels. (That’s a story for another time)
During the process I had way too much time and got thinking about this platform and about what I’ve used it for until now. I realised that even though I love (LOVE) food, it’s still only a small part of the building blocks that keep us going every day and that Helpings was more comprehensive than that.
The thing that kept me going, and literally got me out of bed many days, were routines and habits and small hacks that I’ve developed during the last few years – and that the people around me shared with me with the simple aim of trying to help.
Today I’d like to start with hack #1: dress up for yourself.
When I feel like shit I just want to hide in my my PJs and cover myself in something ugly to match my mood. The problem is that it just doesn’t help (we’re talking day 46 of being in a rut, not day 1, 2 or 3). So I’m training myself to be okay with the mood, but to dress nicely simultaneously – because that cheers me up (and mostly makes people pay me compliments, which isn’t terrible when feeling like jumping off of a bridge).
